LINK HOUSE

A new build house in Cornwall on the rugged coast overlooking a sandy bay.

The panoramic views influenced the plan of the house with the central space

designed so that the expanse of sea, sky and sand are dominant and provide an ever changing view.

The scale, mass and form of the surroundings allowed the the form of the house to emerge from model making and sketching. Materials have been selected to add to this composition.

A double height central living space has bedrooms at each end and are connected by a mezzanine which sails over the entrance to the house.

The front facade and entrance have been reduced to the minimum to emphasise the views on arrival.

Rammed earth walls provide thermal mass and a tactile natural feel to the house.
